The NCDC explicitly positions itself as the most direct Tier II pathway to NCAA hockey — and college programs know it.

Our coaching staff has direct relationships with college programs at every level. When we call, they answer.
Playing in the NCDC means playing against elite competition every night. That level of play is what college coaches want to see.

Possible Pathways
NCAA Division I
The highest level of college hockey. NCDC competition and Cherokee development put players on the radar of D1 programs across the country.
NCAA Division II / III
Dozens of D2 and D3 programs actively recruit from the NCDC. Strong academics plus strong play opens these doors.
USHL / NAHL
Some Cherokee players advance to Tier I junior hockey before moving on to college. We support that path when it is right for the player.
ACHA
The American Collegiate Hockey Association offers competitive college hockey for players at every level. A real option and a real opportunity.
